The Society for Spontaneous Singing

Dearest Singers!

When last we were together, Bobby McFerrin told us to “sing every day, and never give up.” Each of us has followed this advice in our own way, and that’s a beautiful thing.

And in that spirit—we invite you to participate in an online “club” of sorts that will encourage you to record a vocal improvisation each week and share it with other participants.

We’re calling it the “Society for Spontaneous Singing” (SSS).

Here’s how it works:

Each week we’ll send out a prompt to serve as inspiration. Record your response and upload it to the group on SoundCloud (if you have time; no need to sing every week!). Then you can listen to everyone else’s contribution and leave nice comments. Simple as that.

We hope this little society will encourage us to practice regularly, and to foster more interaction and collaboration in the far-flung vocal-improvisation community. If you’re intrigued, we hope you’ll:
